The Texas Community Music Festival kicked off in Austin on April 29, 2006 at Central Market Cafe North. The very first TCMF drew approximately 10,000 attendees over the four-day event, far exceeding expectations and setting the stage for what has now become a ten-day tradition.

TCMF was created by and is presented by the Austin Civic Wind Ensemble.
Texas Community Music Festival honors our founding organization, ACWE, who celebrated its 50th year in 2025 and continues to make our festival possible.

Austin – The Texas Community Music Festival kicks off this Friday, May 12, at Central Market North. We urge all performers to check the players page for information regarding parking, set up, sound, etc. We apologize for the interruptions in our website, but we have been assured that the site has been re-tuned and all the keys well oiled. Austin – The 16th (17th?) Texas Community Music Festival kicks off at 5:45pm on Friday, May 12, at Central Market. This year’s opening performers are the Yes Ma’am Brass Band!
