The Texas Community Music Festival kicked off in Austin on April 29, 2006 at Central Market Cafe North. The very first TCMF drew approximately 10,000 attendees over the four-day event, far exceeding expectations and setting the stage for what has now become a ten-day tradition.

Austin — This year’s festival will move a week earlier, to the weekend of April 21-22 and 28-29 at Central Market North. AUSTIN — In Sunday night’s closing set, Maestro Robert Laguna of the Austin Civic Wind Ensemble reminded the crowd that a concert band that didn’t play a march, didn’t love their mothers.
