Austin — The thirteenth annual Texas Community Music Festival opened Friday evening to one of the largest and most enthusiastic opening night crowds in Festival history. Pleasant weather and a killer lineup drew music lovers to Central Market, who were rewarded with tight and exciting performances by Boss Street Brass Band, the Stray Bullets and Rhythm Congress. The Texas Community Music Festival kicked off in Austin April 29, 2006, at Central Market North, and drew approximately 10,000 over the four days to the central Austin location, far exceeding expectations, and setting the stage for what has now become a Central Texas tradition.
Celebrating 50 Years of ACWE
TCMF was created by and is presented by the Austin Civic Wind Ensemble.
This year, the Texas Community Music Festival honors our founding organization, ACWE, who is celebrating its 50th year in 2025, and continues to make our festival possible.
