TCMF 8.1 October Showcase Schedule SET!

Austin —  The Texas Community Music Festival’s first ever fall showcase, aka TCMF 8.1, has been booked and will kick off for five straight days and evenings of community music October 18-22, 2013.

All performances will be at Central Market North.

The program features a great many Texas Community Music Festival veterans, including the host band, the Austin Civic Wind Ensemble, as well as a number of newcomers, including the Brushy Creek Brass Band and the Eagle Point Singers, a Native American drumming and dancing group, both of who will be making their first TCMF appearances.

In honor of Oktoberfest, TCMF 8.1 will also feature polka music from Brushy Creek and the Austin Polka Band.

Headliners include the Vintage 15 (Friday) Boss Street Brass Band (Saturday) and Rhythm Congress (Sunday).  Monday’s performances will culminate with the ever-popular Austin Jazz Band under the direction of Bobby Davis.  Tuesday’s closing night will feature two great big band jazz orchestras from ACC; the ACC Stage Ensemble, directed by Dr. Steven Sodders, and the ACC Jazz Ensemble, under the baton of Dr. Tom Husak.

Stay tuned folks!  TCMF 8.1 is set and ready to ROCK!
