First, a band who has been here since YEAR ONE, followed by a quintet featuring both the conductor and the board president of the band who started it all; the Austin Civic Wind Ensemble!
SUNDAY APRIL 21st — 12:45pm
A Dixieland Jazz Band that is sure to play all of your New Orleans favorites, the Chaparral Dixielanders have been a part of the TCMF from the very beginning!
The personnel may have changed over the years, but that Dixieland spirit and sound is timeless.

The Austin Brassworks formed in 2018 to explore original works for brass quintet, contemporary composers, and high-quality transcriptions of music originally voiced for other instruments. As such, the Brassworks has a large and eclectic repertoire.
The musicians in the ensemble (Robert Laguna-trumpet, Chris Willuhn-french horn, Jose Yznaga-trumpet, Danny Schmidt-trombone, and Marc Cain-tuba) are familiar faces in the local musical scene. They play in a range of groups and styles — traditional jazz, big band, polka, wind ensemble, brass band, orchestral and, of course, quintet.
And you’ll certainly recognize Robert Laguna as the longtime conductor for the Austin Civic Wind Ensemble! When he’s not waving a stick, he likes to play a little too.
