Created in 1975, the Austin Civic Wind Ensemble (ACWE) is a community group of nearly 100 amateur and professional musicians — from high school students to college professors, software engineers, composers and band directors.
ACWE’s diverse membership enjoys the challenge of a high-quality repertoire. The wide range of ages and skill levels supports our value of inclusion and fosters our mission of using music for lifelong learning, while promoting joy in Austin through live, FREE, and family-friendly performances.
ALSO… ACWE is the oldest civic band in Austin. Next season we will be celebrating FIFTY YEARS!
Stay tuned at www.ACWE.org for announcements about our celebratory performances!!! Or ask one of our many TCMF volunteers!
How About Second Breakfast???

The mission of the Violet Crown Flute Choir is similar to that of the Austin Civic Wind Ensemble, our parent organization.
We are a group of adult flute players enjoying the challenge of a high-quality repertoire. The wide range of age and skill level supports our value of inclusion and fosters our mission of using music for lifelong learning, while promoting joy in our community through free live performances.
