The Texas Community Music Festival kicked off in Austin April 29, 2006, at Central Market North, and drew approximately 10,000 over the four days to the central Austin location, far exceeding expectations, and setting the stage for what has now become a Central Texas tradition.

Austin — Cool, sunny weather and hot music brought the crowds en masse to the opening show of the Ninth Annual Texas Community Music Festival Saturday.
