Austin — The 11th Annual Texas Community Music Festival dodged the raindrops Tuesday evening at Central Market and music lovers were treated to one of our more diverse programs of the 10-day celebration. The evening was kicked off by the Violet Crown Flute Choir, a subset of host group, the Austin Civic Wind Ensemble.  Unfortunately, ACWE had to cancel Saturday’s opening show but Violet Crown was able to go on, and delivered a beautiful program…

Austin — The Eleventh Annual Texas Community Music Festival served up an ‘all you can eat’ portion of jazz Monday night on the cafe deck of Central Market, with two of TCMF’s longtime and most beloved ensembles. The evening began with the Austin Jazz Workshop presenting their Miles Davis edition, one of their most popular programs from the past year.  AJW, a 22-year music tradition in Austin area schools, recently performed it’s 2,000th school program…

The Texas Community Music Festival kicked off in Austin on April 29, 2006 at Central Market Cafe North. The very first TCMF drew approximately 10,000 attendees over the four-day event, far exceeding expectations and setting the stage for what has now become a ten-day tradition.
