AUSTIN – TCMF 18 kicked off Friday, April 4, and music lovers (and the musicians they love to hear) battled rain, wind and cold weather all weekend. That didn’t dampen anybody’s spirits though, as the intrepid audience was treated to a weekend of outstanding music as diverse as Austin itself. Remarkably, only one set was cancelled due to weather. As always, April weather is unpredictable. And our opening weekend will be no different. In the event of rain, TCMF will be staged on the covered deck of the Central Market Cafe. The Texas Community Music Festival kicked off in Austin April 29, 2006, at Central Market North, and drew approximately 10,000 over the four days to the central Austin location, far exceeding expectations, and setting the stage for what has now become a Central Texas tradition.

Celebrating 50 Years of ACWE
TCMF was created by and is presented by the Austin Civic Wind Ensemble.
This year, the Texas Community Music Festival honors our founding organization, ACWE, who is celebrating its 50th year in 2025, and continues to make our festival possible.
