TCMF Rocks Central Market All Week! Weekend Program Begins Tonight!

We were playing with a full deck Thursday … thanks to the Stray Bullets!

Austin — The Fourteenth Annual Texas Community Music Festival defied the weatherman’s gloomy predictions and delivered shining musical performances Monday through Thursday at Central Market.

Music lovers had plenty to love all week, featuring lively, fun performances every night spanning the spectrum of musical genre, from Americana to Blues to Jazz to Rock to Classical.

Check our Facebook page for videos from this week’s performances.

TCMF14 swings into its final weekend beginning at 5:30pm Friday with Suburban Beat, followed by Woot Talley + the Box and David D. Stewart and the Lost Pesos.  All of Friday’s performers are TCMF veterans and longtime crowd favorites.   In the event of inclement weather, the show will be staged in “the Vinyl Room,” Central Market’s covered cafe deck.  So don’t miss it!

The festival continues at 11am Saturday with our very own Ms. Kat and the Kat’s Pajamas, a special show for young children and toddlers .  Saturday’s headliner is Johnny Degollado and Su Conjunto, making their first appearance at TCMF.

Sunday’s schedule also begins at 11am, with the Austin Ukestra and continues right through the evening, when we’ll close down the festival with an appearance by the legendary street band, the Dead Music Capital Band.

Seeing double for the Violet Crown Flute Choir @ TCMF 14, thanks to Kat Brotherton and Todd Sloan, our ever-vigilant festival coordinators!

Texas Community Music Festival is produced by the Austin Civic Wind Ensemble, graciously hosted by Central Market and generously sponsored by Ms. Kat’s Music and Movement and Westbank String Shop.
