Second Wednesday of TCMF — Brass, Steel Drummers and Eight-String Strummers!

Austin — The Ninth Annual Texas Community Music Festival presented yet another diverse, mind-boggling combination of musical performances Wednesday night, featuring the Pecan Street Brass, Inside Out Steel Band and the Austin Mandolin Choir.

TCMF kicks off tonight at 5:30 with the traditional jazz stylings of the Dixieland Accidentals, followed at 6:45 by R&B/Funk brass band, The Bare Feat, a promising band of young funkafizers with a big bright future.  We’re thrilled to see them at TCMF tonight!

The evening culminates at 8pm with a special performance by The House of Rock and Roll, a classic rock band featuring several members of the Texas Lesiglature.  And, considering what those folks go through working for us in the Capitol, expect this show to be rowdy and exciting. Be prepared to ROCK!

TCMF IX continues Friday at 5:30 with an evening of BOTH KINDS of music … Rhythm AND Blues!  And we’ve got a full day of music both Saturday and Sunday, so you’ve got no excuse to miss the most diverse  smorgasbord of  music in Texas … and it’s ALL FAMILY FRIENDLY AND ALL FREE!

See you at Central Market!
