TCMF 8.1 swings into Day Three!

Austin — Texas Community Music Festival 8.1, our first Fall Showcase rolls into Day 3 today with a lively program of diverse music, including something for everybody… From bluegrass to jazz, to World Music to traditional Oktoberfest blasmusik. And it all culminates tonight at 8 with a special dance hosted by R&B classics, Rhythm Congress.

The festival kicked off Friday with inspired sets by Them Blue Skies, Candace Bellamy and the Vintage 15.

Saturday brought beautiful weather and big crowds to hear traditional jazz from the Numbers and Chaparral Dixielanders; an Oktoberfest set from TCMF veterans Austin Polka Band; big band swing rom the Skylarks and inspiring concert band shows from Band of the Hills and the Austin Civic Wind Enseble.

The evening ended with a colorful powwow-type proves from the Eagle Point Singers and a wild and funky set from Boss Street Brass Band, who had the deck jumping with dancers of all ages until closing time.

Check the schedule page for details on our performances Sunday, Monday and Tuesday.
