AUSTIN — Central Market’s newly enhanced Café will be celebrated with a weekend of live music during the 6th Annual Texas Community Music Festival featuring headliners: Mother Falcon, White Ghost Shivers and Monster Big Band.

Adorned with photographs and posters from culturally significant events that have taken place on the Café deck, the art display will encompass the remarkable diversity that is so much a part of Austin.

The Café will be permanently transformed with unique images showcasing Central Market’s role in supporting culturally awareness and community diversity in Austin. Central Market’s original store on North Lamar is celebrating 15 years as a premier culinary destination, world market, community center, concert/event venue, community benefactor, and with out doubt, the funniest grocery store in the world. Photographs and posters from events such as Nowruz (Persian New Year), Mahatma Gandhis’ Birth Day Party, Juneteenth, Passover in the Hood, and Dia de los Muertos will be prominently displayed throughout the Café space. Join Central Market in celebrating culture and diversity on April 29, 30, and May 1 with an all out musical salute, featuring an assortment of music from around the world.

This is the sixth consecutive year Central Market has hosted the Texas Community Music Festival.  The Festival, organized and conducted by the Austin Civic Wind Ensemble will continue at Central Market and at The Park at The Triangle through Wednesday, May 11.  Check the TCMF Schedule for the entire lineup of musical groups, including the largest group of first-time performers since the first year of the TCMF.

Austin — The Sixth Annual Texas Community Music festival kicks off Friday,  April 29th, at Central Market North, and features quite possibly the widest variety of music in the history of the festival.

The festival, which runs through Wednesday, May 11, also features 15 ensembles that are new to TCMF, the largest number of new performers since the inaugural festival five years ago.  Check the Schedule page for the complete TCMF lineup.

Monster Big Band

Austin — Central Market North has confirmed that four of Austin’s most popular and accomplished musical groups will be headlining the Sixth Annual Texas Community Music Festival, with more news still be to announced.

The Festival will now kick off at 6:30pm on Friday, April 29, with a performance by Mother Falcon, the extraordinary 18-piece modern classical orchestra.

Saturday night, April 30, White Ghost Shivers will take the stage from 7-9pm, with their unique string band, vaudeville-esque sound and show.

Sunday night, May 1, as part of a special celebration, Central Market and TCMF will present the awesome Monster Big Band, from 7:45-9pm.

Finally, Saturday, May 7, the Djembabes will spread joy and hope through their uplifting drumming and singing.

These extraordinary artists further enhance what has become the most musically prolific TCMF lineup in festival history… a definitely the most diverse!
