Austin — The Twelfth Annual Texas Community Music Festival moves into its final weekend Friday evening beginning at 5:30 and running through Sunday at 9pm at Central Market North.

Friday’s artists include Bubba Coletrane and the Train Wrecks at 5:30, followed by Woot Talley + The Box at 6:45 and the evening’s headliners, Rhythm Congress, taking the stage at 8.  There’s going to be a whole lotta shaking going on, so bring your dancing shoes and come ready to rock out!

Thursday night featured a program as American as Mom and Apple Pie.  In fact, the opening act, Them Blue Skies Trio, featured an extremely proud Mom, as our own Ms. Kat Brotherton watched on as her 10-year-old son Zane made his first public performance during their blues set.  The Apple Pie (and bluegrass) were supplied afterwards by Dry River Mirage and Buffalo Grass, who performed two outstanding sets of Americana/Bluegrass/Country.

TCMF will continue throughout the weekend, beginning at 10:30am Saturday, with a special show for young children by Front Door Concerts and culminating from 7-9 with Kupira Marimba.   Sunday’s final festival day begins at 11am with the Austin Mandolin Orchestra.  And, as has become our custom, TCMF XII will be laid to rest by Austin’s favorite (f)undead brass band, Dead Music Capital Band.   Please check here for the complete weekend schedule.
