Wednesday fun at TCMF!

Austin — The Tenth Annual Texas Community Music Festival swung around the bend Wednesday at Central Market and headed the back stretch with a trio of outstanding performances.

The evening (TCMF Day 6) began with a masterful set by the New Orleans Jazz Band of Austin, who delivered an hour of “Trad Jazz,” better known as Dixieland Jazz, with skill, grace and style.

Next up was Danger*Cakes, a rockabilly quartet who took the show in a totally different direction, much to the continued delight of the Wednesday night audience.

The program concluded with a powerful jazz performance by Up on the One.

Day 7 of the program begins tonight at 5:30, with more jazz from Lake Bottom Jazz Combo.  David Diers and the 910 Train takes the stage at 6:45, and the Skylarks close the performance with their big band swinging sound beginning at 8.  It’s a night for toe-tapping and dancing.  So bring the whole family out to TCMF for more of our tenth anniversary celebration of Texas’ rich community of musicians.
