Eighth Annual TCMF Kicks off Saturday, April 20!

TCMF-Logo-13Austin — The Eighth Annual Texas Community Music Festival will kick off two weeks of outstanding and diverse musical performances on Saturday, April 20, 2013, at Central Market North in Austin, and continues at that location and Wednesday nights at the Farmers Market at the Triangle through May 1, closing on Thursday, May 2 at Scholz Garten.

This year’s festival features longtime participants, like the festival hosts, The Austin Civic Wind Ensemble, along with numerous groups that have participated in 5 or more festivals.  The 2013 TCMF also features more than a dozen performances by first-time participants in the festival, including a special performance by Grammy winning artist Redd Volkaert, who will be performing Saturday night , April 20, at 7pm, with the ACC Jazz Ensemble, featuring Karma Stewart.

We are also pleased to announce that TCMF will once again officially close at Scholz Garten with the 2013 debut of the world-infamous Wurst Band. Thursday, May 2, at 8:30pm.

As always, TCMF is family friendly and ABSOLUTELY FREE to the public.

We’ll have music to fit most everybody’s taste, with styles ranging from classical to R&B to numerous forms of jazz to world music, funk, country, bluegrass … even opera!  And this year’s TCMF also spotlights the work of a number of Texas songwriters.

Whatever gets your toes ‘a tappin’, the chances are you can enjoy it in a comfortable and relaxed atmosphere at the Texas Community Music Festival.
